Oregon non-resident

I bought a house in another state, and will be moving there in May 2026. I do not own a home in Oregon, I live here temporary and am currently renting a place.
I believe I need to file OR-40 N for the 2026 tax year. Will I get any/all of the taxes paid for being a non-resident?

Are there any tax breaks for purchasing a home this year, that I will moving into next year.

Your current residency status isn't really clear.  Depending on how long you've been living in OR, you may currently be considered a resident, especially since you will be living in OR all of 2025 and into 2026.  Thus an OR-40-P may be needed for your 2026 taxes when you file them in early 2027.

Will you get any OR taxes refunded?...maybe none/some, but not all.   Certainly all of your OR income, including interest, dividends and capital gains etc, up until you actually move to the new state, will be taxed as OR income. But after you move, it depends on whether you continue to work in OR.  For example: Some folks live just cross border and work in OR daily.  Those wage-$ continue to be assessed an OR tax (unless you move to CA) ......SO it depends on which state you end up moving to.   Those who work in OR, but live in CA have a strange reverse credit situation and you might need a local professional to prepare your taxes for 2026 if you are in that situation.

But if you move to the other state in 2026, and no longer work in OR, then it would appear that you will need to file the OR-40-P   (part-year) for Oregon for all income in the period up-until you moved, and then also part-year for that other state (IF that other state has an income tax.) for all income after you moved.
